Xbox DVD - Xbox 360 Hd DVD and Xbox Games

First, I’ll like to say the 360 HD DVD player in the Xbox 360 is great, I love it, needless to say, the Xbox 360 games are great. “Seeing is believing” they say, and what I’ve seen and heard of the Xbox 360 is fantastic!

There are some great games out there for the 360, good quality games displayed on a nice monitor really lets you appreciate the visual effects. Compared to the 360 HD DVD player, Dell’s 50″ screens are 720p/1080i 1368×768 resolution, and not like the new 1080p 1920×1080 that’s out now.

The KING KONG 360 HD DVD movie didn’t seem to be HD or 6x better than a regular DVD movie compared to the xbox 360 HD DVD player. I was disappointed when I first viewed the KING KONG 360 HD DVD disc that is included. I was so sad that I was prepared to return it to Amazon, but then I changed the screen on the xbox360 HD DVD (which I hadn’t done since I bought the DELL 2yrs ago with the ARIA DVD) the 360 HD DVD movie simply ‘came to life!’

The 360 HD DVD has beautiful colors, detail images in the shadows, real blacks and a ‘film like’ appearance to the whole 360 HD DVD . I’ve seen KING KONG on regular DVD and it was nice, but this Xbox 360 HD DVD Player does something to the ‘feel’ of the movie detail, for example: in the ‘T-REX battle, facing the last beast, I could see KONG clearly (360 HD DVD) “BITE the TONGUE” of the T-REX and ripped it out of its MOUTH!.

I missed that split second detail in my regular DVD player, but not in the 360 HD DVD player. You’d better get some good xbox 360 downloads.

This player does what HD should do… blow you away with detail and presentation, the 360 HD DVD players great. The mpeg 4(AVC-H.264)/VC-1/codec is in full glory in 360 HD DVD. But so is Blu-ray, now that they too are adopting the more modern compressing codes and correcting their earlier players (firmware:Genesis chip disable/Samsung BDP1000) / movie releases (old mpeg2) along the way. Finally, the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player is a great add-on for the 360 console, the answer to the Blu-ray PS3. Buy it!

Xbox Games For Online Gaming That Mom And Dad Should Know About

If your kid has an Xbox and they play online you will often here them either yelling at the TV or talking to you about how awesome it is. You will often see your kid wanting to play role playing games or shooting games because they like the action and shooting. If you love to play Halo then you will love to play that type of game online. Your kid probably already plays the game and that’s what he has been trying to tell you forever. That’s probably all they talk about at the dinner table is online this and online that.

If you have a computer and an internet connection you can play any online game as long as you buy the game so you can make an account. I play Counterstrike and I love it. You just get online and start playing with your friends from the game. You will make friends fast online if you play a decent amount. The more you play the better you will get. Most kids that play computer games online play the most insane hours that you will ever hear. Kids somehow find a way to play more then 50 hours a week. It is in the stats on counterstrike if you were to look.

The other type of games that you might find your students or kids playing is the flash games online. While at school I used to play the flash games after I did my work because I had a computer class and I had computers in some of my other classes. We would get online and look for games that were fun until school was out and we could go get on the real servers and play real online games.

If you have an Xbox or a Sony Play Station then you probably already know about online gaming. All you do is sign up for the service and you play the type of games that are online enabled. You just go to the store where you buy your games from and you pick out the ones if you are playing online. Most online games are games like Gears of War and Halo 3. You can also find games like Call of Duty I think they actually just came out with a new Call of Duty game called Call of Duty - Modern Warfare. I heard it was a good game but I am not sure if it is online enabled. Although I am pretty sure that you play it online because most of the Call of Duty games you can play online. They are pretty fun you usually just go out and start shooting up the other team. There are role playing games and such like that but they don’t tend to make them online although they do have a few of them I think like Final Fantasy and games like those. I am not really into the whole anime theme like the fable games and stuff; online gaming is for shooting games in my opinion.

Xbox vs. PS2 Game Consoles

There has been a great deal of discussion regarding the two most popular gaming consoles currently on the market: Playstation 2 (PS2) and Xbox. PS2 is a Sony product, while Xbox is owned by the software giant Microsoft. Many different people have worked with these gaming systems inside and out, attempting to determine which system provides the best performance for your hard-earned gaming dollar. Here we take a look at each gaming system and compare the specs and performance of each. We will attempt to answer that age-old question: which is the better gaming system, Xbox or PS2?

You can take a look at a table comparing hardware specs here.

There are many specs in addition to the ones listed above, but these should give you some idea of just how close these two game consoles really are. If you are looking for pure processing power and graphics capabilities, the Xbox appears to have a slight advantage. In addition, its computer-like features, such as a built-in hard drive are nice to have. With the PS2 you must purchase a memory card if you run out of storage room. When comparing raw power and extra features, the Xbox wins - but you have to keep in mind that the PS2 was released first, and there are additional things to consider besides system specs.

What about Multi-player Capabilities?

Both the Xbox and PS2 have multi-player capability. You can hook up a series of both consoles so that you and your friends can play games together at the same time. The Xbox may be connected using a home LAN system, much like your home computers (here’s another example of how the Xbox is more like a specialized gaming computer). The PS2 may be connected using a link cable, not a LAN. This system may be cost prohibitive for some gamers, since you have to own multiple consoles, seperate TVs for each, and several copies of the same game (yep, that’s expensive).

Of course, you can always ditch the local network and play through the internet. Bboth PS2 and Xbox allow you to play online against a random assortment of opponents. Xbox uses Xbox live, a fairly well supported online gaming network. PS2’s network is not as popular as Xbox Llive, but it works fairly well all the same. If you are really into multi-player, it seems that Xbox is probably the best console for you.

Xbox Games vs. PS2 Games

When deciding which of these two game consoles is best for you, you should certainly take into consideration what types of games each offers, and which games you are most interested in playing. PS2, having been around a little while longer, tends to have the larger game library, but Xbox is not terribly far behind. In addition, Xbox tends to produce games geared more towards adults than children. The graphics seen on the new Xbox games are also clearly a step ahead of PS2 graphics. There is, however, nearly a PS2 game for everyone, and there are lot of PS2 games geared towards teenagers. If you are looking for games for kids, the Nintendo Gamecube may actually be a better choice than either of these two - and it’s cheaper.

Other Considerations

Some other things you may want to consider when comparing PS2 and Xbox is the controller provided by each. These may not seem like a big factor at first glance, but people usually prefer one type of controller over the other. The Xbox controllers tend to be slightly larger than PS2, mainly because Xbox is designed with older gamers in mind. You can always buy a converter in order to get one game console controller to work with another.

As far as price goes, PS2 has typically been cheaper than Xbox. As of the time of this writing (Dec. 2004), PS2 retails for about $150 and Xbox $100. Game prices are very similar for both game systems, with most new games costing about $30 - $50.

The bottom line is, PS2 is a little older than the Xbox, and is geared for a younger gaming crowd. If you are buying this console for a teenager, the PS2 may actually be your best bet - they have more games, the console is cheaper, and the games are more appropriate for that age group. The Xbox is a little more expensive, has fewer games, but it out-performs PS2 and has more adult-oriented games.

Good News For XBOX 360 Owners - The Easy Way To Download XBOX Games

With the XBOX 360 still being the most popular gaming system on the market, we find ourselves answering quite a few emails each week about various topics on the xbox. One of the ones we get at least a couple of times weekly is how you can download xbox 360 games. With that in mind, we wanted to put together a quick guide showing gamers how they download xbox 360 games.

One thing that we have to give credit for is just how popular the XBOX 360 is even though there have been a couple of new systems released since the xbox was introduced. It’s definately a system that combines a lot of power with some amazing features!

For xbox owners that like to try new games, there’s no better feature than being able to download xbox 360 games. You don’t have to worry about forking over some cash each time you want to try out a new game - you just have to fire up your computer.

How do you do this?

You have two choices to choose from when you are looking for xbox 360 games to download.

The first one is to look for websites that claim to give you “free xbox 360 downloads”. There are a few out there but they can end up being a big headache.

These types of sites have a bad reputation for spreading viruses and other computer infections. Because these sites don’t have any type of monitoring system, you can never be sure of what you are downloading.

These websites will also have very slow download speeds and many of the games are mislabeled or don’t even work when you finish downloading them. It’s easy to waste a lot of time on these sites.

The second option is to use a specialty xbox 360 download website. These are websites that specialize in offering xbox 360 downloads and have been put together by businesses that offer these downloads to people who register as a member.

A nice feature of these sites is that they also offer movies, TV shows and other media files for download. Since these sites are designed specifically to offer xbox downloads, the companies make sure that the downloads are fast, all the games work and the downloads are 100% safe.

To become a member at these websites there is a fee that you need to pay. It’s not expensive though (about $50) and it’s a one-time fee. Once you join, you never will be billed again and can download as many games as you want for as long as you have your xbox 360.

As a member you also get all the software that is needed to make the games work on your xbox 360. Setting everything up takes about 10 minutes and the entire process is incredibly easy.

As a side note, you should be on the look-out for websites that charge monthly or per-download fees. There are a few that do this so that they can pull out a few extra bucks out of customers. Avoid these websites since the better xbox downloads sites will only charge the one-time fee for unlimited access.

Downloading xbox 360 games is becoming extremely popular as more people find out about this option. It’s one of the easiest ways to get new games for your system without having to fork over your hard earned cash. Enjoy!

Copying Xbox Games

There really is no shortcut to copying XBOX games. In fact, this is a mightily complicated process and has stumped some really techie people. This is evident with the prevalence of the question on copying XBOX games in Internet message boards and tech chat rooms. But why does one need to be going about there and copying XBOX games? Is this not legal?

If you have an XBOX and you have purchased original games to play on it, chances are you must have ran through a huge chunk of your savings. Original games are very expensive and because CDs are not exactly immortal, you can eventually wear out a game especially if you use it every minute of the day.

To give value to consumers, most countries allow original CD buyers to make back-up copies of their XBOX games in case their original got damaged or got lost provided that they are aware of the law against pirated software and that they actually own an original cd and are only copying XBOX games for their personal use only.

While it is relatively easy to do the copying of XBOX games, the same cannot be said in actually using the XBOX games that you have copied. Most software contain an encryption that must be met when inserted in an XBOX. Copying an XBOX game, however, does not copy this encryption. This is a protection system that most XBOX consoles have as protection against flagrant copying of XBOX games.

To be able to run XBOX games that you have copied, you need to modify your XBOX. This can be a daunting task especially to beginners who are afraid of destroying their XBOXes with their tinkering.

According to most tech experts, there are a lot of ways to modifying your XBOX in order to accommodate the practice of copying of XBOX games. Some are quite complicated and only a tech expert could do while other ways can be expensive but easy.

One is to buy and install a MOD-chip. This will allow your console to play XBOX games that you have copied as well as play imported games from other countries with perfect sound and video with no problem at all. While it may seem that all you have to do is purchase a MOD-Chip and then voila, you have another think coming. There are actually a lot of things that you should consider when buying a MOD-Chip. Most recommend the Divineo Modchips, which are purported to be really reliable. Some of the popular brands are the Xecuter 2 and 3, Xenium, SmartXX, X-bit, Alladin, Chameleon and Xchip.

Another way in copying and using XBOX games is to change the BIOS of the XBOX so that it will no longer read the requirements of the digitally-signed software. This is basically reprogramming the whole BIOS.

You might also consider purchasing a bigger hard drive and just save all your games inside the XBOX. This way, you already have copy of your favorite games inside and would no longer need to swap CDs.

The third way is to do the game swapping technique, wherein you will first boot the original CD and then swap the copy once it has already booted up. This might be very complicated and will not actually serve your purpose in copying your XBOX games… that is to preserve your original CDs.

How Does The Xbox Differ From The Xbox 360

We can definitely cite quite a number of differences between the Xbox and its later model. But whether these differences would count at all, would really matter mostly on the individual characteristics of the consumers. It really depends on whether the person asking this question is somebody who simply wants to be able to play a video game at home during his past time. Or, whether this person is a total technological fan who is always out to get the latest model of gizmos.

First of all, the Xbox 360 is the latest model of Microsoft’s gaming console. One might naturally expect that some of the features found inside the latest model would not be found in its predecessor. They would definitely not want to release something supposedly new that is basically the same as the older model, would they? That’s the fact for every new edition of something that has been created before, especially regarding technological equipments and devices. There is always something added to it.

Improvement is always something that comes along in a new innovation. If you are a person who is quite meticulous about details, you would surely be able to notice slight differences between the computer graphics offered by the Xbox and its newer version.

The design of the new Xbox 360 is supposed to be able to work better with HDTVs. These matters are really to be able to go along with the other technological marvels in this day. They would naturally want to keep up and become as compatible as possible with the current state-of-the-art.

However, tests have been conducted using the Xbox 360. What they found was that, without the proper equipment to match the specifications of the game console, all the new innovations in its features would simply go to waste. If for example you connect it to a television set that only has an RF connection, you would basically get a quality of graphics that is probably 10 years behind what is being offered by the modern day.

Some of the other features that you would want to take into consideration are the wireless controllers available for the Xbox 360, its network gaming capability via a broadband connection, hard disc storage, and USB compatibility. It’s basically a home entertainment system on its own. You would be able to view pictures and video from a digital camera, play music, etc.

Backwards compatibility is also an added feature that would allow you to play old Xbox games using the new game console. If you have the older one, then you would not be able to play the latest games that are to come.

As for me, I think that both of the units would be able to perform just as well. If you are satisfied with the conventional features of the old model, then go for it. It isn’t really that out-of-date you know. But if you think that the difference between the Xbox 360 and the older version Xbox is that big, then go for it! You would definitely be getting some more great features out of the newer version. That is, of course, worth some extra money. Or you could simply wait for about a year and extend your patience until the prices go down. But by then there would probably be a 720 version of it.

Want To Get More Thrill For Your Buck? Find Out More About The Best Deals For Cheap Xbox Games.

Games that were just a handful of months ago in the $30-50 dollar range are now in the $15-30 dollar area. Some especially cheap Xbox games can be found for around $10 or less. This is a perfect example of the financial advantage of staying just one step behind the current generation of technology, a method I’ve been using for computers for years.

The best way to find cheap Xbox games is to examine it online. With just a little bit of inquiring you can find some really good deals on decent Xbox games to order. Cheap Xbox games are sold by many different companies, and to stay competitive they’re always dropping their prices. One online site I like to use is of course EBay. Ebay is a great source for cheap Xbox games, even if they are used. I’ve never had any problems with a used Xbox game, and so if you are trying to get cheap Xbox games I would recommend looking for preowned ones.

A lot of local stores will carry preened Xbox games as well, if you don’t like using EBay. One chain I like is EB Games. EB Games is just about everywhere in the U.S. now, and they usually have a good selection of cheap Xbox games. While you can search for specific used Xbox games on their site, sometimes its fun to just pop into one of their stores if you see one. Actually perusing their used Xbox game shelf may help you catch a title or two you wouldn’t have thought to search for.

With several more next generation video consoles scheduled to come out soon, I suspect the prices on Xbox games are going to continue their downward force. Just keeping your eyes open and staying watchful on the internet, you’re sure to find all of the cheap Xbox games you’d ever want and then some. A few years down the road when the next Xbox comes out, I’ll be doing the same thing with the Xbox 360.
